Eliza Doolittle sold flowers in London, in Covent Garden. Even though she did know how to make money selling flowers, she not make enough to support herself and her dissolute father.
The man selling roses at a busy intersection looks drained. His blooms are wilting, and attracting few buyers. He has bought a box of them and most of them are unsold. Forlornly, he holds them out, hoping that someone will by before the lights change. The traffic lights change, and cars move on. Disconsolate, he wanders to his box at the side of the road and selects another bunch that looks less faded.
